Got the second half of the set from the weekend in Portland in November done. These were all taken at Ronson’s place when Tamara and the family brought Noel and her new twins up so we could meet them. The set is POSTED HERE.

Well. I guess I am too busy when I have finally gotten to pictures from over two weeks ago and it’s the first post in nearly a month. For what it’s worth, I took these at the last football game of the season that Sophie’s squad cheered for. And oh yeah… check the name of the stadium in the first shot. It’s up for viewing now. POSTED HERE.

Minnesota Wedding Film Shots

A small set. Nailed most, but blew a few (but not bad enough to not post for the interested family members). The set is POSTED HERE.

Beale Street at Night

Well, Rita’s yard work took her a bit longer than I thought and I have these ready to go. Rita shot all these on the little Leica D-Lux point and shoot. They took very little processing and just a hint of noise reduction. Love that little camera. The set is POSTED HERE.

Memphis Riverboat Tour

Category: Family & Friends,Leica Monkeys,TravelRandall Kelley @ 13:09

I have found and processed the Memphis riverboat shots that Rita and I took last month. Glad I realized I missed these two sets weren’t done (this and our Memphis night shots from Beale Street). Hopefully I will have the night stuff done soon. Maybe not today, but soon. Meantime, the riverboat stuff is POSTED HERE.

Memphis at Night in Black and White

I have a set of black and white shots from Memphis, all but a few taken at night, ready to go now. While developing the black and white film I also discoverd I had some of Elvis’s cars from the day at Graceland in my film sets, and when checking to see the date on those I discovered something strange. I have NOT done our Graceland set. I guess my meltdown there (from lack of liquid and heat) put a block in my brain. Anyway, I will get to those soon, so this is not the last of the Memphis stuff. But this is the last of the film stuff from Memphis. The first few are from a daytime visit to Beale Street and a visit to A Schwab, an historic department store, one from the entry to the Gibson Factory (before we had to stop because they did not allow photos on the tour) and a couple of shots of bridges taken on the riverboat tour. The remainder are all night stuff on push processed TriX film. My Black and White Memphis shots are POSTED HERE.

Some Film from Memphis

I have my actual negatives in hand from the memphis stuff, but I don’t have time to pick my favorites and do more detailed scans yet. For now I am posting some sets from the scans from the lab, they are pretty decent scans anyway. A portion of these were posted at lower resolution on Facebook, but I have done more development work (home computer makes it much easier to get into really detailed processing than the laptop when traveling). The first of two sets is all of the apartment we stayed in while in Memphis. That set is POSTED HERE.

The second set is from the Leon Russel Concert and has some of the opening act the Grahams and some of Leon Russel and his band. There would be more of Leon Russel, but I was asked by the floor manager to stop using anything other than an iPhone. Strange to me, as iPhone shots would certainly be more accurate than high speed black and white film shots. Maybe they just don’t like art? Who knows. At least I got a few good ones in before they shut me down. The concert set is POSTED HERE.

Minnesota Wedding Time

Category: Family & Friends,Leica Monkeys,TravelRandall Kelley @ 15:33

Posting three sets from the Allbee wedding in Minnesota recently. The first set is a small batch from the ceremony. That is POSTED HERE.

The second is from the reception. Some of people sitting around and some group shots. Some of them are the wedding family shots and some are of Rita’s brothers and sisters. The set of her brothers and sisters is a chain of rapid fire shots of them goofing off. If you flip through them fast you could almost make an animated gif of them. That set is POSTED HERE.

And lastly, a larger set of dancing. Mostly the kids, but some of the grownups acting like kids. That set is POSTED HERE.

Frank Lloyd Wright Excursion

Category: Family & Friends,Leica Monkeys,TravelRandall Kelley @ 18:04

Posting four sets from our trip to Pennsylvania with our friend Drew to visit some Frank Lloyd Wright houses. We flew into Columbus and met Drew and then (after a day checking antique malls in Ohio) headed over to see Fallingwater and Kentuk Knob. As a bonus Drew had found we could spend a night in a FLW house nearby. We were totally excited, and the whole trip lived up to our highest hopes.

I’m not writing much here, but I put fairly extensive notes in the captions of the photos. So look for more info there. First up is a set from our drive over to the Duncan House where we spent the night. That set is POSTED HERE.

Pan of the house. 2 frames from the dLux and one from Rita's M 240.

The next set is a small set taken out of the Fallingwater set, that is just some of the artwork on the walls of the house. It is POSTED HERE.

Another Diego Rivera.

Now this would be the time ordered spot for the Fallingwater shots, and the logical place for them, but the Kentuk Knob visit would be such a let down after those that I am posting them here. Kentucky Knob is much smaller, more typical, of a FLW house than Fallingwater that it was a bit of a letdown. Had we started here, it might not have been, it is cool in it’s own right. However, compound this with no interior photography and it was a double let down. This set is just a few exterior shots and a few sculptures from the owners collection that is housed on the grounds. The Kentuk Knob set is POSTED HERE.

Last, and most assuredly not least, is a large set from Fallingwater. Loads of captions and loads of detailed interior shots as well as spectacular exterior shots. That set is POSTED HERE.
