More Bayou Color

From two rolls of Kodak Ektar film I shot. Most are from the swamp tour, but a few at the end are from the evening before we left New Orleans. Some scratches in here I could not eliminate. Looks like I will be using a different lab to develop my stuff in the future. The last New Orleans set is POSTED HERE.

Rest of My New Orleans Black and White

I still have a couple of rolls of Ektar color film to go through, but this is the last of the black and white. These have a few from the Garden District, and a few from the ride back from our swamp tour, but the bulk are from the Bayou. While I am sure most people will think that was better served by color, I do like some of these. And there is more bayou color coming later, as the bulk of the two rolls of color I have left are from there as well. The black and white set is POSTED HERE.

Bayou Boogie

Category: Family & Friends,Leica Monkeys,TravelRandall Kelley @ 13:16

Posting a rather large set of Rita’s pictures from the swamp tour we took just outside New Orleans. Not many gators in here, but some other odd wildlife. Lots of interesting colors and reflections for such a “dead” time of year. And lots of “houses” that range from understandably “woodsy” to “WTF?”. It is POSTED HERE.

Garden District

Posting shots from a roll of Fuji Pro 400H color film from Thanksgiving day. A few odd ones to start, but mostly these are from our stroll through the Garden District, seeing the houses we couldn’t afford. The set is POSTED HERE.

Jazz Concert in Portland

Category: Family & Friends,Leica MonkeysRandall Kelley @ 17:40

Our grandson Vincent has recently joined one of the groups in the Portland Youth Jazz Orchestra and his half brother’s half sister, Laken, is in the same group (long story, but the “Reader’s Digest version” is that she is like family, too, to him and us). I shot some on Rita’s camera, so the color fans will be happy. Some are higher ISO as the light got less as things went on, but all are good a normal viewing size. There is one video clip at the end (no editing for juggle or anything, but ok sound quality) of the end of one of their numbers. The set is POSTED HERE.

My Black and Whites from the Boy’s Night Out

Small set of shots of the band at the jazz club and our walk down Bourbon Street that I shot on the Monochrom (Digital, not film). Posted Here.

Don’t be Cross With Me

A batch from the Garden District, then some from the place we had lunch on Thanksgiving (and nearby), and ending up with some from the next morning going to the bayou. All on Fuji Velvia 100 slide film cross processed. For the uninitiated, this is not what you do to slide film to get realistic colors. This is a process to deliberately get (pardon my French) “F*ed Up” color. The set is POSTED HERE.

Color! Strange, Strange, Big Easy Color

My next contribution to our New Orleans saga is from the roll of Cinistill film I shot on my excursion with Adam to a jazz club and then for a stroll through Bourbon Street. And yes, the place is as stupid crazy as they say. And we were off season. I used this film as it renders lights weird, with a halo effect. You never know what you are going to get. That’s one of the reasons I decided to start here. When you have no expectations it’s just fun. Of course, like all good fun, it ends with a cop on horseback looking over his shoulder at you. I hope you have fun viewing the set. It’s POSTED HERE.
